Five Hot Actresses to Star on Cell Phone TV Drama

According to a news report published today on the Japan Today website, the future may be starting sooner than we think. By the future I mean that television and computers may become obsolete.

Okay, that’s a bit of an exaggeration. Okay, maybe that is more than a bit – maybe I am really stretching it.

Here’s the headline:

Five Hot Actresses To Star in BeeTV Cell Phone Drama

In case you don’t recognize all of the beauties in the image above, beginning top left and working clockwise we have: Koyuki, Asami, Saki, Yuuka, and Kyoko. The ‘beauty’ on the bottom left is Yusuke.

In short, you will be able, as a subscriber to NTT DoCoMo BeeTV service, to watch 29 five minute episodes of a romantic drama mini-series on your cell phone. The title is Onnatachi wa Nido Asobu.

The series will begin on March 1st and will air three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. At 5 minutes per, the 29 episodes will run for a total of 145 minutes.

The production cost is rumored to be in the vicinity of 150 million JY. That’s a bit more than 1 million yen per minute over the life of the series. Makes you wonder if they’re going to have 1 or 2 commercials to break up the ‘lengthy’ episodes.

So who are the 5 hotties?

Segment 1 starsĀ  Saki Aibu who plays a woman who doesn’t do anything. I guess that means: no cooking, no washing of clothes, and no cleaning of the apartment – she won’t even empty an ash trays according to the notes about the show. Maybe she is a distant cousin of Seinfeld who tried to sell a pilot to NBC TV that was described as a show about nothing.

In Segment 2, Asami Mizukawa plays an unlucky woman who messes up a man.I’m not sure what that means, but I am sure comes next spring we will find out.

Three features Koyuki who plays an excessively beautiful woman. I’m not sure what that means either, and I didn’t know one could be too beautiful.

The 4th segment stars Yuuka. Yes, that Yuuka who all of you gravure fans know of. Maybe she did her gravure stint a decade ago; but in this show she will play an easy/promiscuous woman.

The last segment features Kyoko Hasegawa who will have the role of an ordinary woman. If Hasegawa can be ordinary, then elephants can fly, and I’ll be mistaken for Brad Pitt or Takuya Kimura.

There’s one guy in this series and he is in all 29 episodes. The lucky dude is Yusuke Santamaria.

There will be 4 segments of 6 episodes each. Segment three with Koyuki will be just 5 episodes. I wonder if Koyuki will earn less than her other female colleagues, On the other hand, maybe she’ll earn more.

And the thrills just keep on coming. They’ve even announced a theme song called I Know The Meaning Of Us, and a sound track artist, and that would be pop singer Namie Amuro.

Well the long and the short of it is that I wouldn’t toss my TV or PC away just yet. Watching TV on a hand phone may be convenient but far from ideal. In case you think I am making this up, take a look at the trailer right below this paragraph – you’ll see Saki, Asami, Koyuki, Yuuka, and Kyoko in that order. BTW, it takes a bit longer for the video trailer to load in, maybe a minute or more, so please be patient. Thanks.
