Movie queen Angelica Lee was in Singapore a few nights ago as an ambassador for a skincare event. During the event, she expressed that she had no desire to get hitched in the near future and revealed that she and her director-boyfriend, Oxide Pang Chun, are both currently caught up in work. The Hong Kong actresses also divulged that she might release a new film soon but will not rush into things.
The skincare event was held at Tangs marked one of her rare visits to Singapore. With a cluster of fans gathered before the stage, the feminine-looking Lee appeared in a tasteful black mini-dress.
Despite her packed schedule, the actress recently starred in fellow Malaysian singer Ah Niu’s Ice Kacang Puppy Love movie, opened a fashion shop in Malaysia, tried to be her own boss, designer, and photographer, and even took time off to write a children’s story for charity. That’s not the end of it, the actress also has plans to visit India in September with her photographer friends to seek new inspirational ideas for her new book.
The Malaysian actress was rumoured to be engaged two years ago to her director-boyfriend of nine years. However, with a busy schedule and a long lineup of projects and business ventures, marriage never came across her mind as she admitted, “Marriage is between two people, and we’ll let nature take its course. We are both very busy currently and we love our jobs. We don’t have time to think about this.”
Despite her hectic schedule and wait-and-see approach to marriage, the actress shared her immense love for children, “I really love kids. Maybe when the day finally comes when I can put my job aside, I’ll get married and have children.”
As compared to her past characters’ roles in movies, Lee will deviate away from her usual introvert and mature image in her latest movie. Ice Kacang Puppy Love is a Malaysian movie that depicts the lives of high school students. Lee considers this her breakthrough role as she plays Ah Niu’s first love, a village girl who is optimistic, brash and violent. Although vastly different from her previous demure roles, Lee views this as a challenge and hopes to do her very best.
Ice Kacang Puppy Love features a stable of fellow mando-pop singers like Fish Leong, Victor Wong, and Gary Chaw. With Ah Niu directing and acting in the movie, the filming site was always filled with singing and music.
