“TOKYO — Actress Juri Ueno recently promoted a series of five TV dramas she stars in where the plotline in every case revolves around a bag. ‘‘I have great enthusiasm for these dramas as I became involved in this project at an early stage…even before shooting began,’’ Ueno told a recent promotional event in Tokyo for the drama series called ‘‘Ueno Juri to Itsutsu no Kaban’’ (Juri Ueno and Five Bags).
Ueno said the directors and scriptwriters gave free rein to their imagination in writing stories based on ‘‘Juri Ueno’’ and ‘‘bags.’’ She said the stories show just what a wide variety of different situations the directors could conjure up just from her name and bags. ‘‘That stimulated me very much,’’ she said.”

“Former adult actress Hina Aizawa (24) appeared in court on Friday and pleaded guilty to charges of using illegal stimulants. The judge sentenced her to 18 months, but suspended the sentence for three years.
Aizawa, whose real name is Sachiko Gyoten, was arrested in late June on suspicion of injecting stimulants at her apartment. The drug was detected in her body through a urine test, and a search of her apartment uncovered syringes and other drug-related items.
The judge explained the sentence, saying that Aizawa was heavily dependent on the drugs but showed remorse for her behavior. Aizawa has reportedly been using stimulants since receiving some from a friend around 2002, when she was still in her teens. She made her debut in the adult video industry in 2006.”

At the Nippon Television charity show “24-hour TV,” Becky had performed with NEWS members Tomohisa Yamashita, 24, and Ryo Nishikido, 24, who were found to be infected with the H1N1 influenza virus, but she smiled, “I got tested and came out negative.”

“On Friday, the Tokyo District Court ruled in favor of singer Miki Fujimoto (24) and her older brother, who had filed a defamation lawsuit against Shukan Shincho publisher Shinchosha.
An issue of the Shukan Shincho magazine published in November 2007 ran a headline declaring that Fujimoto was extorting money from her ex-boyfriend. The article inside the issue claimed that Fujimoto’s older brother had made the boyfriend pay a total of 20 to 30 million yen.
Fujimoto’s lawyer sought damages of 40 million yen and a published apology. The presiding judge ruled against Shinchosha, explaining that there was insufficient evidence to support the magazine’s accusations. Shinchosha was ordered to pay only 4 million yen in damages.”

Prosecutors indicted Sakai, 38, although there had been concern that the case could go cold as only a small amount of the drug had been found in connection with the charge. A few days ago, famous Hong Kong director Derek Yee openly lambasted an actor and actress for their diva attitudes. He explained that he had requested to meet up with the pair of artistes numerous times to discuss about some work projects but got stood up by them instead. It was speculated that Sammi Cheng and Leon Lai were the two artistes he was referring to.
On her blog, Hong Kong singer-actress, Sammi Cheng, cleared the misunderstanding and cited poor health issues for her unprecedented no-show attitude a few years ago. She forthrightly admitted that she was the female actress mentioned and sincerely apologized for her act.
